Science College

Science Status Success

Our new status as a Science College and some hard work by the Temple Moor team has already seen us start to reap the rewards…..So far we have been able to provide:

- Interactive whiteboards in every science and maths classroom.
- Eight interactive whiteboards to be put into the Year 6 classrooms of our partner primary schools. Two sets of interactive pupil response pads.
- An additional Science Technician.
- A Science College Administrator.
- Addition fitness training and monitoring equipment to benefit both PE and health and social care.
- The PortaLab facility, which is already spreading practical science to our partner primary schools and benefiting pupils before they even come to Temple Moor.

It has also allowed us to improve and develop teaching and learning approaches in science and maths through the additional appointment of an Advanced Skills Teacher in science and maths. It’s not just pupils at Temple Moor that are benefiting either. Community groups such as the Castleford ATC Squadron, Templegate Tiny Tots and St Mary’s Scout group are also benefiting through use of our facilities or additional equipment
